Driving to the spa town: what to know about parking first
Marienbad is compact and wonderfully walkable — but that doesn’t mean you can’t arrive by car. Quite the opposite. Most visitors come by car, and the key question is: where to park? The historic centre sits inside a protected spa zone with restricted access, so it pays to plan your parking before you arrive.
The good news: most Ensana hotels offer their own parking, and the town also has several parking houses and public car parks. This guide covers the essentials; for the full overview of prices and capacity at each hotel, see the Parking at the Ensana Hotels page.
Parking at the Ensana hotels
At the hotels you’ll usually find three kinds of spaces:
- Unguarded car park in front of the hotel — free at some hotels, but with a limited number of spaces.
- Guarded car park — the safer option, typically 250–380 CZK per day (the price drops for longer stays).
- Underground garages — at the Nové Lázně and Hvězda resorts, monitored and sheltered from the weather.
One exception is the Pacifik: the spaces right by the hotel are for check-in and check-out only; for the length of your stay you’ll use the nearby parking house by the Municipal Theatre.
For all hotel car parks and garages, one rule applies: advance reservation is required. Capacity is limited and in season spaces fill up quickly, so secure yours when you book your stay — simply email the hotel (e.g. res.nl@ensanahotels.com for Nové Lázně). Electric, hybrid and LPG cars
An important note for owners of alternative-fuel vehicles: the underground garages at the Nové Lázně, Hvězda and Butterfly hotels do not allow electric, hybrid or LPG vehicles. If you arrive in such a car, use the hotel’s outdoor car park or one of the town car parks below.
Parking around town
When hotel spaces are full — or you need to park away from the hotel — the town offers several options:
- Parking Centrum (parking house), Pramenská 653/2 behind the Municipal Theatre. Covered, guarded, with CCTV, open around the clock, 290 spaces. First 20 minutes free, 20 CZK/hour, 240 CZK/day. This is the “parking house by the Municipal Theatre” within walking distance of the Pacifik, Butterfly and Svoboda hotels.
- Central car park, Kollárova 94/26 — guarded, with a ticket machine, around the clock, 400 spaces, 50 CZK/day.
- Public car parks with a ticket machine by the Koliba and Krakonoš hotels or by Oděvy — cheaper options for shorter stays.
The spa zone: entry by permit only
The heart of town — the colonnade, the Singing Fountain and the spa houses — lies within the spa zone, where access is regulated. Guests staying inside the zone are exempt on their arrival and departure days. Otherwise you need a permit: a one-day spa-zone permit can be bought from a parking machine for 20 CZK.
There are more than 30 parking meters around the centre; hourly rates run from roughly 30 to 50 CZK depending on the zone (highest in the spa centre).
How to pay
The machines accept payment cards and the ClickPark mobile app, which also tracks the end of your parking time. Cash payment (CZK and €) is only possible at certain new-type machines that are still being rolled out across town — so don’t rely on coins alone. The town also has interactive boards showing the number of free spaces at each location.
